A dreamlike journey to our poppy growers

Imagine stepping into a dreamscape where the wild elegance of nature meets the tranquil embrace of the sea—our recent journey to our poppy growers was nothing short of magical.

As we stood on a hillside bathed in golden sunlight, a few colored poppy swayed gently in the breeze their fragile petals illuminated against the lush green backdrop. More buds, tightly curled, were waiting to bloom, promising an even grander display of color. Below, the shimmering blue waters stretch to the horizon, meeting the sky in a seamless gradient of blues.

This is a place where time slows down, where the beauty of nature invites you to pause, breathe, and simply exist in the moment. This is the place where our poppies come to life.

The harvesting of poppies is a delicate and time-sensitive process that takes place between December and May, depending on the climate and region. During this period, the flowers bloom and begin to mature, developing their iconic seed pods. The growers must carefully monitor the plants as the pods reach the right stage for collection. The ideal time for harvesting is when the pods have dried out slightly but have not fully opened. This ensures that the seeds remain intact and are not scattered prematurely. The harvesting itself is a slow, manual process.

Once poppies are harvested, the ends of the stems are burned (or more commonly, dipped in hot water). This process is done to help preserve the freshness and quality of the flowers, by sealing the plant's vascular system, preventing water from escaping and helping the flowers stay hydrated for longer. This method ensures that the poppies are more durable and attractive when they reach customers, whether they're used in bouquets or floral arrangements.

Poppies are still blooming and won't last long . Grab yours before the season ends!
