Cotinus

Cotinus

Cotinus is an ornamental plant appreciated for its decorative leaves and striking flowering.

Its leaves are particularly distinctive and are the plant's most recognisable feature. They are large, oval or lanceolate, and often resemble feathers or wigs. The leaves can vary in color, ranging from bright green to deep red and purple.

In spring and summer, Cotinus produces showy inflorescences made up of small flowers clustered in panicles. These flowers can be cream or pink, depending on the variety. Although the individual flowers are relatively inconspicuous, the collective effect of the inflorescences gives the plant a highly ornamental appearance.
